Michele McCormack has worked more than 20 years as a K-6 teacher in Brevard Public Schools, teaches deaf and hard-of-hearing students, and holds degrees in elementary and deaf education2. She finished second in the three-candidate Aug. 18, 2026 primary with about 36% and faces Tammy Dennis on Nov. 31. She says she will retire from teaching if elected and plans to keep politics out of the classroom, improve teacher retention and strengthen support for students with disabilities2.
