What your support pays for
- Researching every candidate. Every person on every ballot we cover gets a profile built from their own votes, actions and statements, with a source for every claim.
- Independent fact-checking. Every profile is checked a second time against its sources before it goes live.
- Adding new areas. Voters ask us to cover their county or district, and we add new areas every day.
- Running the site. Servers, the address lookup, security and backups, so the guide stays fast and private.
Where the money does not go
Not one dollar goes to any political party, candidate, campaign or PAC. Contributions pay to research, run and grow this site, and nothing else.
Our pledge: we do not accept money from any candidate, campaign, political party, PAC or super PAC, or any group that endorses candidates, on any side. Money never changes what a candidate's page says: every position comes only from that candidate's own votes, actions and statements. If we ever accept money from an organization, we will say so here first.
Vote the Person is an independent, self-funded project. It is not a nonprofit, so contributions are not tax deductible. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. See what we keep.
