Luis Viera is a Tampa attorney and certified mediator, a graduate of the University of South Florida and Stetson College of Law, who has represented District 7 on the Tampa City Council since December 2016, chaired the council in 2019 to 2020 and chaired the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority board from 2023 to 2026¹². He filed to run for House District 67 in April 2025, submitted a resignation from the council effective November 2, 2026 under the resign-to-run law, and faces Republican Lisette Bonano³⁴⁵.
