His campaign website says he served more than 27 years with the Denver Police Department, retiring as a command officer, and more than 30 years in the Colorado Air National Guard, including as commander of the 140th Security Forces Squadron from 2015 to 20202. It lists degrees from the Community College of the Air Force, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Colorado State University2. He was also the Republican nominee for Sheriff in 2022, receiving 102,948 votes to Tyler Brown's 138,3343.
