Jason Dunn has been Justice of the Peace for Montgomery County Precinct 4 since January 1, 2019, after working as a Houston Police investigator and serving on the Splendora ISD school board23. The State Commission on Judicial Conduct publicly admonished him and ordered additional education in an order issued in June 202545. He is the only candidate on the November 3, 2026 ballot for this seat1.

The order publicly admonishes him and orders additional education (two hours of instruction with a mentor, in social media and the judiciary). The order states the reasons as: advertising local businesses on his personal and judicial Facebook pages, endorsing businesses and people on those pages, accepting gifts from local businesses and organizations, soliciting funds for local causes on those pages, and sharing a post endorsing a presidential candidate on his personal page, in violation of Canons 2B, 4A(1), 4C(2), 4D(4) and 5(2) of the Texas Code of Judicial Conduct45. Searched the public sanctions pages for fiscal years 2002 through 2026 (every year the site lists) on 2026-10-01, by surname; this is the only entry found for him. Private sanctions are not published by name, and the suspension and resignation lists were not searched.
