Chris Acord is the Justice of the Peace for Grimes County Precinct 1, which serves Bedias, Iola, Keith, Shiro and Singleton, according to the county's official Justice of the Peace page². KWHI reported that the Commissioners Court appointed him to the post to take over from Judge Gene Stapleton, and that he received a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture from Sam Houston State University, taught agriculture science from 2000 to 2003, and had been a self-employed cattle rancher since, as of that report³.
