Arapahoe County Coroner (appointed)

Dr. Casey Bitting was appointed Arapahoe County Coroner by the Board of County Commissioners, effective July 2, 2026, after Dr. Kelly Lear retired². She has been a forensic pathologist with the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office since 2018 and is the sole candidate for the office on the November 2026 ballot¹². She holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Rocky Vista University and completed a forensic pathology fellowship at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Maryland².

• Appointed by the Arapahoe County Board of County Commissioners, effective July 2, 2026, to complete the rest of Dr. Kelly Lear's term, which extends through January 2027; she is the sole candidate on the November 2026 ballot¹².
