Kirk Hanath served as Washington County Precinct 3 Commissioner, listed from 2005 in the county's guide2. The county's Commissioners Court page now lists Chad Dismukes as Precinct 3 Commissioner3, and KWHI called Hanath the outgoing Precinct 3 commissioner when Dismukes was sworn in on August 28, 20264. He announced his run for County Judge on November 18, 2025, and KWHI reported that the current County Judge, John Durrenberger, was not seeking re-election5.
